How to change the speed of a video

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Pick a speed from 0.25× to 4× (or type your own) and what happens to the sound.
  3. Press the button and download the video.

The sound

  • Keep the normal pitch: voices stay natural at any speed (the sound is time-stretched).
  • Higher or lower with the speed: like playing a tape faster or slower.
  • Remove the sound: for silent time-lapses.

Good to know

  • Slow motion shows each frame longer; it doesn't invent frames in between, so very slow speeds can look choppy.
  • Fast videos are kept at no more than 60 frames per second, so they play smoothly everywhere.
  • It uses your browser's built-in video technology: best in current Chrome and Edge, and recent Safari and Firefox versions.
