How to convert a salary
- Enter the pay and whether it is per hour, day, week, month or year.
- Set the hours and days you work in a week.
- Read the pay for every other period.
How it is worked out
The pay is turned into a yearly amount first. A year has the paid weeks you set (52 when holidays are paid) times your hours per week: 40 hours a week makes 2,080 working hours a year. A month is a year divided by 12.
For a 6-day, 48-hour week, set the hours to 48 and the days to 6.
Good to know
- The amounts are before tax and deductions, so they compare gross pay.
- For a freelance rate, set fewer paid weeks to leave out holidays and time between projects.
- Choose rupees for Indian number grouping (10,00,000), or another currency or none.
