How to cut several parts of an audio file
- Choose your audio file.
- Play it (or click the sound wave) and mark each part with "Start a part here" and "End the part here".
- Keep, remove or save the parts separately, then download.
What you can do
- Keep several parts and join them, in any order: a highlights clip, a ringtone made of two parts, a sample reel.
- Remove parts: coughs, mistakes, long silences or ads.
- Save each part as its own file, all in a ZIP.
Fast or exact
- Fast copies the audio without re-encoding: no quality loss, and done in seconds. Cuts land within a few hundredths of a second.
- Exact cuts at the times you set, to the frame, with a few milliseconds of fade at each join so it doesn't click. It re-encodes, which takes longer and changes the file slightly.
Good to know
- MP3 stays MP3, M4A stays M4A, and so on. FLAC is saved as WAV with Exact, because browsers can't create FLAC.
- Keyboard: I and O mark a part; the arrow keys move along the sound wave.
- To find pauses automatically, use Remove Silence.

Frequently asked questions
Will there be a click where the parts join?
With Exact, each join gets a very short fade, so it doesn't click. Fast copies the sound as it is and is accurate to a few hundredths of a second.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. It is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
