How to calculate GST

  1. Choose whether your amount is before GST or already includes it.
  2. Enter the amount and the GST rate: type any rate (or press Custom rate), or pick a common one.
  3. Read the GST, the CGST and SGST halves (or IGST) and the total.

CGST, SGST and IGST

For a sale within one state, GST is split equally into central GST (CGST) and state GST (SGST, or UTGST in a union territory): 18% becomes 9% + 9%. For a sale between states, the whole amount is integrated GST (IGST).

Are the amounts rounded?

Yes, to two decimal places (paise), as on invoices.

Is anything sent anywhere?

No. The calculation happens in your browser, and the amounts you enter never leave your device.
