How to crop a video

Choose your video.
Pick a shape (free, 1:1, 9:16, 16:9…) and drag the box over the part you want to keep.
Choose the quality, press Crop and download.

Cropping changes the picture, so the video is re-encoded. "High" keeps it close to the original.
The preview shows one frame. Play the video and press "Show this frame" to check another moment.
The sound is kept.
The new file doesn't keep the original's metadata, such as the recording location or the device name.
Opens MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and MPEG-TS. No server-imposed file size limits. The new file is made in your device's memory, so very long videos need a computer with enough free memory.
It uses your browser's built-in video technology. It works best in current Chrome and Edge; recent Safari and Firefox versions work too. If your browser can't create a format, the tool says so.

The video is processed by your own browser and computer. It is never uploaded, so private and unreleased footage stays with you.
