How to change a video's volume

  1. Choose the video.
  2. Set the volume, or choose Loudness (LUFS) or Peak normalize.
  3. Press the button and download.

Good to know

  • 100% keeps the volume; 200% is about twice as loud (+6 dB).
  • Loudness (LUFS) brings the sound to the level streaming services or broadcasters expect (−14, −16 or −23 LUFS), measured to ITU-R BS.1770.
  • Peak normalize raises everything until the loudest moment reaches the maximum level, so nothing distorts.
  • Very loud parts are softened gently instead of crackling.
  • The picture is copied as is; only the sound is encoded again.
  • It uses your browser's built-in video technology. It works best in current Chrome and Edge; recent Safari and Firefox versions work too.

Normalize says my video is already as loud as possible. Why?

Its loudest moment already reaches the maximum. Choose a volume above 100% to make it louder anyway; loud parts are then softened.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
