How to open an Excel file without Excel
- Choose the .xlsx, .xls, .ods or .csv file.
- Pick a sheet from the tabs; rows are shown 200 at a time.
- Need the data elsewhere? Excel to CSV and Excel to JSON convert it.
Good to know
- Values are shown as Excel last calculated them, dates as dates. Formulas aren't re-run, and macros never run.
- Formatting, charts, pictures and comments are not shown.
- Old .xls workbooks from Excel 97–2003 (and Excel 95) open too. Binary .xlsb workbooks don't.
- CSV files are read in any common separator (comma, semicolon, tab) and character encoding.

No. Remove the password in Excel first (you need to know it).

No. It is read in your browser and never sent anywhere.
