How to open an archive

  1. Choose a ZIP, RAR, 7z or TAR.GZ file.
  2. See the list of files inside, with their sizes; find one by name.
  3. Download single files, or save them all (to a folder, keeping the folders inside).

Formats

  • ZIP (also Word, Excel, EPUB and other files that are ZIPs inside), read directly, even when very large.
  • RAR (RAR 4 and RAR 5), 7z, TAR, TAR.GZ, TGZ, GZ, BZ2 and XZ, opened with libarchive.
  • Password-protected ZIP files (classic and AES encryption) open when you type the password. Password-protected RAR and 7z files can't be unpacked here.

Good to know

  • Only the files you save are unpacked.
  • RAR, 7z and TAR archives are read into memory, so very large ones (several GB) can be slow on phones.
  • "Save all to a folder" works in Chrome and Edge; other browsers download the files one by one.

Your archive stays on your device

Everything happens in your browser. Your archive is never uploaded, and this site's security policy blocks the page from sending files anywhere.

Can I create RAR or 7z files?

No. Create ZIP Files makes ZIP archives, which every computer can open.

Is my archive uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
