How to print passport photos

  1. Choose your photo and the photo size you need.
  2. Move and zoom the photo in the frame so the head fits the guide.
  3. Pick the paper, then download the sheet as a JPG for a photo lab or a PDF for your printer.

Printing tips

  • A JPG sheet on 4 × 6 in is the cheapest way: most photo labs, pharmacies and kiosks print it for very little. The file is 300 DPI, with the size stored in it.
  • At home, print the PDF at 100% ("actual size"), not "fit to page", on photo paper if you have it.
  • Thin gray lines around each photo make cutting easier; turn them off if you use a photo cutter.
  • Measure one printed photo with a ruler before you cut them all.

Official rules

This tool makes the size and layout right. It doesn't check the photo itself: background color, lighting, expression, glasses and how recent the photo is are set by each country, and the head-size guide is only a typical range. Check the official rules before you print, and use a plain, light background (the Background Color Changer can help with transparent images).

Your images stay on your device

Everything happens in your browser. Your images are never uploaded, and this site's security policy blocks the page from sending files anywhere.

Can I use this for visa photos and ID cards?

Yes, for any photo with a fixed size. Choose "Other size…" to type any width and height in millimetres.

Why does my printed photo come out the wrong size?

The printer scaled the page. Print at 100% or "actual size", and turn off "fit to page" or borderless printing.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The sheet is made in your browser and never sent anywhere.
