- Pick the format and quality (and, if you like, the sample rate and mono or stereo).
- Press Convert and download.
Formats
| Format | Good for |
|---|---|
| MP3 | Plays everywhere |
| M4A (AAC) | Apple devices, small files |
| WAV | Editing; uncompressed, large |
| FLAC | Lossless: the same sound as WAV in about half the space |
| AIFF | Uncompressed, for Apple apps such as GarageBand and Logic |
| OGG (Opus) | Small files with good quality |
Sound from films
Browsers can't play Dolby Digital (AC-3, E-AC-3) or DTS sound, which many MKV and MP4 films use. This site adds decoders for them (open-source, loaded only when a file needs them), so you can take the sound out of such a film or convert it.
Good to know
- Converting between compressed formats (for example M4A to MP3) can't add back detail that was already lost. Use the highest quality you need.
- To make an MP3 smaller, convert it to MP3 again at a lower bitrate.
- Opens MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG/Opus and FLAC, and the sound of videos. WMA and AMR files can't be opened.
- Tags such as artist and cover art are not copied to the new file.

常见问题
Can I change the sample rate or make it mono?
Yes: open "Sample rate and channels". MP3 and WAV can be 8 to 48 kHz, M4A 44.1 or 48 kHz; OGG (Opus) always plays at 48 kHz. Mono halves the size of a WAV. For sound that is only in one ear, use Stereo to Mono & Audio Channels.
Can I convert to FLAC?
No. Browsers can't create FLAC files. Choose WAV for lossless audio.
Which bitrate should I pick for MP3?
192 kbps for music, 128 kbps for speech. 320 kbps is the maximum.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. It is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
