How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Choose or drop your HEIC files. You can add many at once.
  2. The output is set to JPG. Adjust the quality, or the size under Advanced Options, if you like.
  3. Press Convert, then download the files one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Good to know

  • Works in every modern browser: Safari opens HEIC itself, other browsers use a decoder that is built into this page.
  • Photos are turned the right way up using the rotation stored in the file.
  • The JPG files don't include the original's hidden data such as GPS location.
  • Live Photos and bursts: the main still image is converted.

Veelgestelde vragen

Why can't I open HEIC files on Windows?

HEIC is Apple's default photo format. Windows needs an extra codec for it, so converting to JPG is often the simplest fix.

Is the quality reduced?

JPG uses lossy compression. At the default quality (92) the difference is not visible. For no loss at all, use HEIC to PNG instead.

Can I stop my iPhone from making HEIC files?

Yes: Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible saves new photos as JPG.

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
