How to rotate a video

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Pick 90° right, 180° or 90° left, and/or mirror it.
  3. Press Rotate and download.

Instant or re-encoded

  • Rotation alone is stored as a setting in the file: instant and with no quality loss. Phones, browsers and most players respect it.
  • Mirroring, or "Turn the actual pixels" (for older players that ignore the rotation setting), re-encodes the video, which takes longer.

Good to know

  • Opens MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV and MPEG-TS.
  • The new file doesn't keep the original's metadata, such as the recording location or the device name.
  • No server-imposed file size limits. The new file is made in your device's memory, so very long videos need a computer with enough free memory.

Your video stays on your device

The video is processed by your own browser and computer. It is never uploaded, so private and unreleased footage stays with you.

My rotated video still plays sideways in one app. Why?

That app ignores the rotation setting. Rotate again with "Turn the actual pixels" turned on.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
