How to clean up text

  1. Type or paste your text, or open a text file.
  2. Choose what to clean. The result updates as you change the options.
  3. Copy the clean text or download it.

What it can do

  • Join lines into paragraphs, which fixes text copied from PDFs (words split with a hyphen at the end of a line are joined too).
  • Remove extra spaces, tabs, invisible characters and empty lines.
  • Remove duplicate lines, exactly or ignoring upper/lower case.
  • Sort lines A → Z with numbers in the right order (2 before 10), Z → A, by length, reverse or shuffle.
  • Remove HTML tags, straighten curly quotes, remove accents or emoji.

Your text stays in your browser

Nothing you type or paste is sent anywhere. It is processed on your device and disappears when you close the page.

How do I fix text copied from a PDF?

Set "Line breaks" to "Join lines into paragraphs". Blank lines are kept as paragraph breaks.

Is there a size limit?

No server-imposed limit on text length. Very long texts update a moment after you stop typing.
