How to flatten a PDF

  2. Choose what to flatten: form fields, comments and stamps, or both.
  3. Press Flatten PDF and download.

Why flatten

  • Filled-in forms look the same in every app and can't be changed by accident.
  • Comments, highlights, stamps and signatures drawn as comments print reliably everywhere.
  • Some offices and portals only accept flattened PDFs.

Good to know

  • Links stay clickable unless you untick it.
  • Comments without a saved appearance can't be drawn, so they are kept and listed.
  • Flattening is not redaction: to remove information, use Redact PDF.
