How to convert Markdown to PDF
- Paste Markdown or open a .md file.
- Choose the page size, margins, font and text size.
- Press Save as PDF and choose "Save as PDF" in the print window.
What is supported
- Headings, bold and italic, links, bullet and numbered lists, task lists, quotes, tables, code blocks and horizontal lines (GitHub-flavoured Markdown).
- Headings stay with the text that follows them, and tables, code blocks and pictures aren't split across pages where they fit on one.
- Page numbers at the bottom of each page in Chrome and Edge.
- The first heading becomes the suggested file name.
Good to know
- The PDF is made by your browser's print window, so its text stays selectable and searchable.
- Pictures from other websites aren't loaded, since this page never fetches anything. Pictures embedded in the Markdown as data (data:image/png;base64,…) are included.
- For a clean page, turn off "Headers and footers" in the print window.
- To convert Markdown to HTML instead, use the Markdown to HTML Converter.
Your document stays on your device
The Markdown is turned into the PDF in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and this site's security policy blocks the page from sending anything.
Questions fréquentes
Why does it open the print window?
Browsers make excellent PDFs through printing, with real, selectable text and the exact fonts. Choose "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF") as the printer. On phones, use Print and then Save or Share as PDF.
Is my document uploaded?
No. It is turned into the PDF in your browser and never sent anywhere.
